CAST is a multi-academy trust made up of 36 Catholic schools in the Plymouth Diocese. Bishop Mark, Bishop of the Plymouth Diocese, explains their purpose thus;
“The foundation of our Catholic schools is our primary mission that each child should be able to encounter the living God, who in Jesus Christ reveals his transforming love and truth. This mission rests on three interdependent objectives: to provide an environment in which children are enabled to build and deepen their relationship with God; to foster a rigorous academic culture aimed at the pursuit of truth; and to actively promote the development and growth of virtue in each child.”
These objectives commit everyone associated with CAST schools to ensure that children not only learn about but also meet and experience the joy of the Gospel made evident through daily prayer and celebration of the sacraments, in the diligent study of a varied, appropriate and engaging curriculum, and in the love shown between people who make up these school communities. Our hope is that built upon this solid foundation, our schools are happy places in which both children, staff and families flourish.
Catholic schools in the Plymouth diocese welcome and educate children from all sorts of backgrounds. If you are a parent and would like to discuss the possibility of sending your child to a Catholic school please contact David Wells who will be happy to answer any questions you have.
